Reasons for a website review

Hello!

Creating a new website is both exciting and a bit stressful and you might think that once your website is live, you can forget about it. You assume that it's doing its job of promoting your products or services. However, as it’s one of your biggest business assets, it’s vital that you don't forget about it.

Your website deserves care and attention and If it’s no longer able to perform well, it might be time to ask why. However, It’s not always easy to identify why your site might not be doing its job, especially if you haven’t had professional help. It could be that it’s not showing up in search results any more or that you have a very high checkout bounce rate.

This is why I've created my ‘Website Review Service’. I help you understand the problems your site has and offer actionable ways to solve them. Below are just a few reasons you might need some feedback on your website.

Web Service Speed Timer

Speed - Is your website fast enough?

Google reports that 40% of website users will abandon a website if it takes more than three seconds to load.

Your website speed is important. And by speed I mean the time it takes for your web pages to load on a web browser. Google now uses site speed (and as a result, page speed) as one of the signals used by its algorithm to rank pages. This means that a slow website will less likely be found through Google.

There are many factors that can and do influence the speed of your website. For example, the speed and location of the server your website is hosted on, the size of the images on a page, or scripts that run in the background. All these, and a lot more, play a part in the speed of your website and will affect how it is seen online.

How will your website review help?

I will make several speed tests and tell you if your site is in need of a speed bump. I will tell you where the issues are and what you can do to improve the speed of your site.

Web Service Mobile Freindly

Mobile friendly - Is your website mobile-friendly?

61% of users are unlikely to return to a mobile site they had trouble accessing and 40% of those users will visit a competitor’s site instead.

There are now more websites that load on smartphones and tablets than on desktop computers. So much so that Google has now introduced ‘mobile first’ into their search algorithms. This means that they will use the mobile version of your website’s content for indexing and ranking. If your site is not responsive and mobile-friendly, it’s likely that it will suffer over time.

How will your website review help?

I will perform tests to see if Google knows if your site is mobile friendly or not. Also, I will spend time on your site using a smartphone and tablet and tell you what experience improvements can be made and how.

Web Service Global SEO

SEO- Does your website have good SEO?

In a competitive market, SEO is more important than ever to make sure your content gets seen.

It’s no good creating great products and great content if nobody will see it. Every day people use search engines to look for and find products and services, which is why it’s so important to make sure you can be found online. This is where SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) comes in. If you don’t rank on the first page of search results for your relevant keywords, you are potentially missing out on new customers and sales.

How will your website review help?

I will see how well your site ranks for your relevant keywords and go through your pages to see where you can improve with SEO and offer solutions for how you do this.

Web Service Security

Security - Is your website secure?

Users need to feel confident that your website protects them and their data from potential cyber security threats.

Online security is very important and so your site needs to be secure also. By using https, indicted by the little green padlock in your browser, your website will prevent intruders from tampering with the communications between your websites and your users’ browsers. Without it, your site can be easily hacked. All major web browsers are starting to inform users if a site is not secure and will suggest that you do not access it use in case. This can be potentially very damaging for business.

How will your website review help?

I will check several aspects of your site to see how secure it is. From a valid https connection to insecure out-bound links, all round website security is vital and I will report back with actionable solutions.

Web Service User Experience

User Experience - What is your customer's experience?

Visitors will spend more time, and potentially more money, on your website if their experience is enjoyable.

The experience a customer has on your website plays a significant part in their decision to come back and if they decide to purchase from you. Easy to navigate, easy to understand, quality design, fast performance and reliable expectations all play a part in your customer’s website experience. If a customer doesn’t enjoy browsing and shopping on your site, it’s unlikely they’ll return.

How will your website review help?

I will spend some time on your site and review key aspects of user experiencer. These range from brand awareness, understanding what you do, navigation of site and any technical issues will all be listed with actions to take.

Web Service Product Page

Product page - Are your product pages informative?

Arguably the most important on your site, your product pages need to work hard for your customer and you.

Having the product price clearly placed on the page and having a nice image of your product is just the beginning of making your product pages as good as they can be. Having all relevant information on one page means that your customers will not need to navigate away to learn more. Telling them as much as you can about the product, showing them lots of images and telling them what your returns and delivery terms are, all on the product page will go along way to help your customers.

How will your website review help?

I will look at your product pages and inform you of what might be missing, what might be confusing or distracting and suggest what features could be added to make the page more useful to your customers.

Web Service Quality Checkout

Quality checkout - Is your checkout secure and easy to navigate?

70% of shoppers will abandon their checkout without purchasing. A good checkout experience reduces this risk.

If your checkout isn’t secure or user-friendly it’s a lot more likely that your customer will abandon your checkout due to lack of trust and fear of their details being hacked. Do customers have to register or login before they can purchase form you? Is there a selection of payment options? Does the checkout page look and feel secure? These are just some of the questions that need to be considered when designing a quality checkout experience.

How will your website review help?

I will spend time in your checkout and see how easy it is to proceed through to payment. I’ll check the security of the checkout and the perceived security and give you constructive feedback on how you can improve your customers' experience and hopefully improve sales.

The review was really useful, very in-depth and informative. I was massively impressed with what I have received. The review document is so well prepared and will be great to reference back at even once the initial changes have been made.
